Plan Your Own Capital City Run Walk Hike or Ride Event
Traditionally the evening of the last Saturday in July has been the day for the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin’s Capital City 5K Run/Walk in Madison starting at Capitol Square, going along Lake Monona and ending at Goodman Park with a pool party. Last year the event was held virtually on a route of your developing along with a morning warmup live-streamed presentation and an evening live-streamed closing presentation.
This year the run/walk is a month-long event of tallying 434 miles or more in any combination of running, walking, biking or hiking along routes of your choosing. The 434 mile goal is in recognition of the 434 kidney transplants performed in Wisconsin in 2020.
Would you rather continue the tradition of a one-day event? Great! Get a team together or do a run, walk, bike or hike outing on your own. Plan a route of your choosing and your distance and do the Capital City Run/Walk your way on Saturday, July 31. Then watch the live-streamed closing celebration on Facebook Live or through the Zoom link at 6pm CDT.
Don’t forget to record your miles!
Registration is still open.
