The Parkway 5K & Kidney Mile is an opportunity for individuals and families to raise awareness about the importance of kidney health and the life saving treatments of dialysis and transplantation. It is one event consisting of two different activities, the Parkway 5K and the Kidney Mile. Whether walking, running or just cheering everyone on, this event is a great chance to meet dialysis patients, transplant recipients and living donors.
The Parkway 5K is held along a USATF certified course, managed by Next Level Sports and timed by In Focus Timing. The race is held within Whitnall Park, utilizing a large portion of the Root River Parkway South.
The Kidney Mile is an untimed, one-mile walk that started about an hour after the Parkway 5K. It ends at the Finish Line of the Parkway 5K, allowing walkers to be the cheering squad for the Parkway finishers.
